Lyrics

I don't care if Monday's blue Tuesday's grey and Wednesday too Thursday, I don't care about you It's Friday, I'm in love Monday you can fall apart Tuesday, Wednesday break my heart Oh, Thursday doesn't even start It's Friday, I'm in love Saturday, wait And Sunday always comes too late But Friday, never hesitate I don't care if Monday's black Tuesday, Wednesday, heart attack Thursday, never looking back It's Friday, I'm in love Monday you can hold your head Tuesday, Wednesday, stay in bed Or Thursday watch the walls instead It's Friday, I'm in love Saturday, wait And Sunday always comes too late But Friday, never hesitate Dressed up to the eyes It's a wonderful surprise To see your shoes and your spirits rise Throw out your frown And just smile at the sound Sleek as a shriek, spinning 'round and 'round Always take a big bite It's such a gorgeous sight To see you eat in the middle of the night You can never get enough Enough of this stuff It's Friday, I'm in love I don't care if Monday's blue Tuesday's grey and Wednesday too Thursday, I don't care about you It's Friday, I'm in love Monday you can fall apart Tuesday, Wednesday, break my heart Thursday doesn't even start It's Friday, I'm in love Do-do, do-do, do-do, do Do-do, do-do, do-do, do (Oh, oh, whoa, whoa)

About

Without a doubt, one of The Cure's best songs of all time. It has often been described as "the perfect pop song", and its success signaled a shift in direction for the band, who had been associated with the gothic rock genre up until this song. Released on the 15th May, 1992 as the second single from their ninth studio album, it was an instant worldwide hit, reaching #18 in the United States and #6 in the United Kingdom. The song's music video, directed by Tim Pope, also won MTV's Best Music Video award in 1992. Robert Smith has described the song a "throw your hands in the air, let's get happy kind of record", and it sure shows. It's one of the iconic Cure songs and also one of the most popular pop songs of all time. Smith also proclaimed that he was in a state of paranoia while the song was being released, as he was sure he subconsciously stole the track from another artist. However after no one could ever confirm his claims, he managed to allow himself to let it go. The song has featured in heavily in film & television with some titles being, "About Time" (2013), "I Could Never Be Your Woman" (2007), as well as the Dryden Mitchell cover of this song featuring in the Adam Sandler hit "50 First Dates" (2004).
