
Harrison has moved on with his life after shooting his father [Dexter], moving to New York City, working as a bellhop at the Empire Hotel. He begins the day getting ready for work- brushing teeth, shaving and getting dressed.
Harrison just received good word that he passed his GED test by telling a fellow hotel co-worker. Harrison is enjoying life in the Big Apple, well-liked by his peers at work, building good rapport with hotel guests and finally seems ready to move on from his father.
Harrison intervenes to save a female hotel guest who was drunk after spending time with a wealthy playboy [Ryan] at a bar, from being a rape victim, and kills the man. Upon realizing the situation, Harrison is using all the tips he learned from Dexter to clean the mess at the hotel.
Harrison is now preparing to dismember Ryan’s body at the hotel kitchen. In this scene Dexter is lecturing Harrison how to efficiently cut the body parts in preparation for garbage disposal.
Sanitation employees discover a few body parts at a landfill. The NYPD homicide detectives are called in and discover the rest of Ryan’s dismembered body. The homicide detective is very skilled at her profession and pinpoints where the body came from.
Charley breaks into an apartment and leaves behind money and an invitation in a secret location. Charley’s character is shaping what new adventures Dexter and his son will be facing in New York City with allusions to Dexter’s blood slides.
We’re introduced to a new serial killer known as ‘Red’ who targets ride-hailing drivers, using a chain round on his victims’ neck for a quick decapitation.
Dexter arrives at the hotel where Harrison works at, and doing his own forensic investigation on how Harrison killed Ryan Foster.
Dexter attends a party where he’s introduced to a ride-sharing driver who survived an attack from the “the Dark Passenger” and finds out he’s looks just like him.
As the episode begins, Dexter is starting his new job as a rideshare driver. It's all part of catching the Dark Passenger, who has made these types of drivers his victims.
After seeing Ronald leave, Dexter breaks into his apartment, looking for any trophies. We can immediately see that this is the same apartment Charley was in during the first episode when she left an invitation.

To get in, Dexter has to scan his thumb; at first, the reader doesn't scan Dexter's thumbprint, but the third time is the charm, and the guy pretending to be a different Dark Passenger is let inside.
Harrison goes to Elsa's place to not be alone, where they talk and Laugh, and Elsa tells Harrison he can stay and sleep on the couch. He goes in for a kiss, only to get rejected and walks out the door in shame.
Detective Claudette Wallace is at her office, on the computer, still trying to piece together the homicide at the hotel.
Dexter tails Lowell to a tattoo parlor, using Lowell’s tools, he incapacitates him with anesthesia.
The track is played with Harrison walking on the street before getting a call from Detective Wallace.

After Prater leaves, Dexter rushes Harrison out through the back of the restaurant and enlightens him on what’s going on, who Prater really is. He also confesses that he killed The Dark Passenger and assumed his identity to infiltrate Prater’s group, then went on to kill The Tattoo Collector and The Gemini Killer.
Dexter rings and wants to organize a meet with Prater. With a pocket knife in hand, he’s not messing about. They arrange to meet before the gala the following morning. Unfortunately, Angel Batista shows up first and speaks to Leon Prater about the real Dexter Morgan. When Dexter does show up, Charley blindsides him with Leon, holding him at gunpoint and forcing the guy down to the wine cellar.
Instead of killing, Dexter lets Batista out of his restraint, who immediately bounces on Dexter and starts choking him out. Prater grabs a gun and shoots Batista dead before slipping away with Charley. Batista dies right there after uttering his final words “Dexter Morgan, fuck you”. Dexter is pissed that he’s lost another familiar face from the past, and screams to the heavens.
Batista’s ringtone. We hear it when Quinn calls him to check in, adding a lighthearted touch in a tense episode, that followed a major character death.
Dexter uses Batista’s phone to call Harrison and Gigi, interrupting their "moment" and heightening the urgency of his request for help.
