About

Sexual Healing is a song recorded by Marvin Gaye on his 1982 album, Midnight Love. The song was written by Gaye and produced by the singer himself. He wrote it while staying in a resort town in Belgian for 18 months while recovering from his drug problems. It was released as the album's second single in October of that year. The song was an instant success, becoming one of Gaye's most well-known songs and helping to revive his career after a several-year slump. It peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and spent a then-record sixteen weeks at number one on the magazine's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. In addition, it won Gaye a Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. The song has been covered by numerous artists, including Michael Jackson, who recorded a version for his 1991 album Dangerous. Jackson's cover was released as a single in 1992 and reached number 26 on the Hot 100 and number one on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
