Released 21st May 2021, Vance Joy's song "Missing Piece" is a beautiful ballad about longing for someone who completes you. The track is taken as his lead single from his upcoming album "In Our Own Sweet Time". Annelise Hickey's directed the music video which ended up winning the Best Video award at the 2021 ARIA music awards. The release of "Missing Piece" also resulted in Vance Joy being nomiated for best artist, and garnered additional ARIA nomiations such as song of the year, and best pop release. With its gentle acoustic guitar and Joy's emotive vocals, "Missing Piece" is a moving ode to the idea of finding your other half. At its core, it's about being separated from someone you love. The lyrics capture the feeling of being incomplete without someone special in your life, and the song culminates in a powerful chorus that drives home the point. It also featured on the 17th season of Grey's Anatomy, which makes this his second song to appear on a Grey's episode.
