Spider () I am a spider I am a sniper Awaiting spring I am on fire, this house is cold There's creaking door where the past gets in There is a grapnel that keeps locked in self contempt I am just a spider crawling through the words of a book no one ever read This New Year's chill lets me see every breath I waste A streak of TV light illuminates These crumbling walls that awaken my memory There is comfort and cruelty in this routine.
