Driver talks to Irene after he helps her with her groceries.
Irene arrives at the car garage.
Driver asks Irene if she wants to see something. He drives them through the water passage ways.
Driver and Irene spend time together. She holds his hand.
Irene tells Driver that her husband is coming home.
Standard’s coming home party. Driver and Irene think about each other.
Driver threatens to kick a guy's teeth in at a diner. He then finds Standard beaten up and bloody.
Driver prepares for the next heist with Standard.
After the chase, Driver interrogates Blanche at a motel about the money.
Driver gets stitched up and then goes to the club where Cook is at and beats him with a hammer. Wanting to know whose money he has.
Driver kisses Irene in the elevator.
After he kicks the man's skull in in the elevator. Driver confronts Shannon about what him telling them about Irene.
Bernie washes the blood off of his blade after killing Shannon.
Driver finds Shannon dead in the garage. He drives to Nino's pizza place and follows his car before knocking it off the road.
Driver kills Nino and then meets with Bernie to give him the money. Only for him to get stabbed.
Driver drives away in his car after being stabbed. He drives off into the night as Irene knocks on his door. First song during end credits.

Why did the Driver leave the money. After the Driver kills Bernie he drives away but leaves the bag full of cash next to Bernie's dead body.

Because he didn't want to put himself or Irene's family at risk.

Does the Driver live in the end? As the Driver leaves after being stabbed by Bernie he just simply drives off. This left me wondering if he knew he was gonna die when he told Irene he wasn't coming back. Or did he do that because Bernie had told him the girl would be safe but the Driver would always have to live looking over his back.

He did not die at the end of the movie. He left the money because he hated it . I had already taken in addition to go away from his dears.

I'm pretty sure it's assumed he died. Means he was the hero of the story because he sacrificed himself to make sure they didn't come after the girl.
