Lissa informs Rose that the recent dreams she's been having aren't her own but her (Lissa's); Sonya shows Mikhail the pattern she's noticed in the Strigoi attacks and her theory about the wards; Jesse returns the school but finds the gate lacking guards or opening; Jesse drives an attacking Strigoi through the wards; as the wards weakness, Strigoi begin to climb the outer walls of the city, beginning an invasion.

Lissa and Christian sleep together before Lissa goes through her plans of marriage; Sonya heads to a high tower at the compound in any attempt at suicide; Rosa takes out her sorrow, anger and frustrations out on a training dummy at the training grounds; seeing the scars on Christian's hands, Lissa heals him and notices to white of her sclera turn back; Sonya jumps from the tower only to find herself saved by her birds in a whirlwind; Rose gives into ire and destroys the training grounds score board; the eyes of Sonya and Rosa turn black as well as they give into and feel the effects of spirit magic; Sonya's birds begin to die as she returns to the ground refueling her with spirit energy.

Rose manages to get Dmitri to let loose and dance with her; Adrian leaves the private rooms of the club with Lissa and catches sight of Rose and Dmitri dancing intimately together; Rose "danger sense" hits her for Strigoi; Dmitri rushes the group out of the club; Rose looks a Strigoi in the face as run from the club.
